Actress Puja Banerjee, who is known for playing some path breaking characters in TV shows like Balika Vadhu, Devo Ke Dev Mahadev and Qubool Hai, has cried on-screen countless times. As we all know tears in protagonists eyes in a daily soap drama also plays a huge role in getting ratings. And the biggest support for the actors to do such scenes is drop of glycerine in their eyes. But do you know Puja has never used it in her 14 years of career.
Talking to SpotboyE.com exclusively Pooja revealed, "I have never used glycerine in my life to cry on screen. Whenever I have to do any emotional scene, I try to feel that emotion. There are times when I purposely don't read the entire scene. I just go through my dialogues. So, when I am shooting for that scene what the other person is saying I come to know at that very point of time and it helps me to give natural reactions." While sharing details about her first emotional scene, Puja said, "My first TV serial was 'Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki' which was made by Balaji Telefilms and I was playing Radha in the show. My first emotional scene was where Radha and Krishna were getting separated and I had to cry. In that scene I cried a lot. Main phoot phootkar royi thi. When the shot got cut and we were rolling again for the retake, my director and DOP said beta glycerine wapas lelo. And I was like Sir maine glycerine nahi liya, mujhe nahi chahiye. They all were shocked. Mujhe baad mein logo ne poocha bhi ki tum sochti kya ho jo tumko itna rona aata hai. Aisi bhi kya tragedy hai life mein tumhari." The actress, who is been receiving appreciation for her recent work in web series Paap Antim Pawrbo, confesses, "It was really very difficult for me to play that character. Because there is always a very thin line. If you cross that it starts looking like overacting. If I had to portray innocence so I really had to feel that thing from within or else it would look fake. Whenever I act, I feel things."
In the series, the climax scene where I am telling my entire story. About what all has happened to me and why all these mishappenings are taking place in the family was very difficult for me. Because nowhere I wanted it looked over. Jitna natural ho utna accha lagta hai. And holding emotions for so long was difficult for me. But it came out well," concluded Puja.
